Three Mountains, Three Countries all in 30 hours.

Ben Nevis (Scotland) 4,411 ft Scafell Pike (England) 3,209 ft Snowdon (Wales) 3,560 ft

A combined 11,000 ft of Mountains to ascend and descend, how will the team cope?

In our recent blog, we shared an Interview with Debbie Wall who heads up Sage Foundation globally and our CMO, Marcus Leathwood, about the challenge, so now let’s introduce those intrepid individuals who will be taking part in the 3 peaks Challenge in June this year.

Lee Whelan (CEO and founder of Acuity) 54 years Young and yet to buy his walking boots but looking forward to beating his son to the top of all 3 mountains.

Steve Fuller (COO) passes a milestone birthday ending in a Zero in April of this year, but has put in the Miles over the past few years, walking sections of the Camino de Santiago.

Craig Roshier (Senior Account Manager) reasonably fit and completed the Macmillan mighty hike last year so looking forward to a new challenge (or 3).

Lisa Kellett (Not so Senior Sage 200 Consultant) Often seen on long countryside walks. My challenge will be to keep walking and not stop and admire the view. However, I hope to be excused if I spot a ptarmigan! 😊

Adrian Koopmann Rocha (Account Manager) 5-a-side football with my mates, gym, walking a proportion of my commute to work, and visualising the challenge 😉

Tobias Whelan (Neuroscientist at COMPASS Pathways & Lee’s son!) Hiking, walking my commute, weight lifting, 5-a-side football, and also yet to buy walking boots… must be a family trait! I’m looking forward to supporting a good cause and to the challenge, I’ve wanted to climb a mountain for a while now, so why not three in 30 hours?

Marcus Leathwood (CMO) halfway to 90, but Mountain Bikes and runs every week, plus often found walking to most meetings in London (why use the tube!)

So that’s the Team, who alongside their personal charity fundraising pledge, will all be helping to fundraise for our chosen Charity, PiP Pursing Independent Paths, who as a business we have supported with various Fundraising Initiatives since we met them at Sage Summit, London in 2016.

In November 2019, we hosted our Customer Day at the London Stadium, and Invited PiP and Sage Foundation to tell their Stories to our Sage 200 and Sage X3 Customers with a hugely positive reaction, and with the Support of the Partner Ecosystem and Foundation we donated £10,000.

Kick Starting 2020 with the opportunity to select a Sage Foundation event early, we caught up with Lee to discuss why the Three Peaks, ‘I’ve always fancied doing the 3 peaks challenge and with the opportunity to tick that off the list, raise some more money for our Charities with Sage Foundation and get a little fitter, then how could we not get involved!’

For our Customers who are able to Sponsor our Team, our Just Giving page is https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/acuity-solutions, we are also creating a Summit Flag (that one of the team will have to carry!) and if you are willing and able to we’d like to add your logo’s to it to promote the partnership with Acuity, support for PiP and Sage Foundation. Obviously, we hope the weather is kind and we get some stunning backdrops to make the Brand experience all the more valuable.

So, the Training and Fundraising begins, we will share more on the Individual stories and updates over the coming weeks and months as the team prepare for the event.
